EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES POLICY BETWEEN WOMEN AND MEN
The REPELEGA LHII Vocational Training Center establishes the principle of equal opportunities between women and men as one of the benchmarks for promoting educational practice. This educational practice will be based on the comprehensive development of the individual, regardless of gender stereotypes and roles, the rejection of all forms of discrimination, and the guarantee of academic and professional guidance that is not biased by gender.
The ultimate goal of the Center’s Equal Opportunities Policy for women and men is:
Contribute to creating a more just, democratic, and pluralistic society by incorporating the principles and values of equal opportunities between women and men into the management of the Center, the education of individuals, and the processes of interaction with our environment.
To advance in the fulfillment of this purpose, the Center adopts gender mainstreaming and cooperation with other institutions as its strategies for action and establishes the following commitments and lines of action:
- The design and implementation of coeducational projects whose objectives are related to:
- The elimination of prejudices, stereotypes, and gender roles in order to facilitate opportunities for comprehensive development for both female and male students.
- The promotion of women’s knowledge and the integration of their social and historical contribution to the development of humanity.
- The incorporation of knowledge necessary for students to take charge of their current and future needs and responsibilities related to domestic work and caregiving.
- Training students so that their academic choices are made free from gender-based conditioning.
- Preventing violence against women by learning nonviolent methods of conflict resolution and models of coexistence based on diversity and respect for equal rights and opportunities between women and men.
- The use of non-sexist language and images in the Center’s management documents, teaching materials, communication with the educational community, and all processes involving interaction with social agents.
- The development of awareness-raising activities on equal opportunities aimed at the educational community (teachers, students, parents) and the social agents with whom the Center interacts.
- The implementation of training plans aimed at education professionals related to coeducation and the acquisition of specific knowledge on gender equality.
- Vocational guidance for students free from gender-based conditioning.
- In line with the gender mainstreaming strategy adopted to promote equality between women and men, management based on data disaggregated by sex will be promoted, as well as the collection, processing, and analysis of information that is relevant to understanding the differences in conditions, aspirations, and needs of women and men.
